JOHN A. GRIMES DIED YESTERDAY

Funeral Services To Be Held From the Home, Tomorrow afternoon at 2:30

John Alfred GRIMES passed away yesterday afternoon about 3:30 oclock at his home, 302 North C, after being in very poor health for some time.

Mr. GRIMES was born September 26, 1940, and practically all his life was spent in the vicinity of Fairfield. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at tghe age of 18 years and became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church in 1848, so that he was identified with it for sixty-five years except recently.

He was married in this city April 5, 1863 to Miss Sarah Elizabeth MORRISON to whom were born four children, three of whom are still living, the mother departing this life in November, 1898.

March 28, 1900, he was married to Mrs. Mary O. WILLIS.

He is survived by his widow, Mary O. GRIMES and his three children, William A. GRIMES, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Belle KELLOG (sic - KELLOGG), Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Bertha PAMPLIN, Marshfield, Mo.

Funeral services will be held from the home, 302 North C street Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Dr. C. L. Tenant officiating. The family requests that no flowers be sent by friends.

JOHN A. GRIMES DIED TUESDAY AT AGE EIGHTY-THREE

John A. GRIMES, one of the oldest residents of Fairfield, died at his home on North C street Tuesday afternoon at the age of eighty-three years. He had been in failing health for several years.

Mr. GRIMES was a familiar figure to the people of Fairfield and vicinity by reason of his long residence; he was a carpenter and had a part in the erection of many Fairfield buildings.

In 1863, he was married in Fairfield to Miss Sarah MORRISON. Of the four children born of this marriage three are living; the mother died in 1898. In 1900 Mr. GRIMES was married to Mrs. Mary WILLIS, who survives.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, conducted by Rev. C. L. Tennant, and burial made in Evergreen.
