Died at Home of Daughter

Mrs. Elizabeth GREEN died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. W. STONER, three miles northwest of this city last evening about 8:30 o'clock after a lingering illness. Deceased was about eighty-four years old. She came to Jefferson county in 1846 and has since resided here. Mrs. GREEN was known to a large circle of friends in this city as well as the vicinity in which she spent the greater part of her life. In early life she became a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and it was in that faith that her last hours were soothed and her bed of suffering robbed of its pain.

Her husband, Alfred GREEN, preceeded (sic) her in death about six years ago. Six children survive the deceased, Graham GREW (sic), who resides in Idaho; Allen GREEN, who lives in Oklahoma; Mrs. C. M. MOYER, of York, Nebraska; Wayne GREEN, who lives in Buchanan township of this county, and Mrs. H. W. STONER, at whose home she passed away.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the home, Rev. Thomas Osborn of the Methodist Episcopal church of this city will conduct the services. The interrment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

... Mrs. GREEN, widow of the late Alfred GREEN died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. W. STONER north- of town, Wednesday evening. She was about 83 years old and was an old settler of this county. The funeral services will be held this afternoon.

Death of Mrs. Elizabeth GREEN.

Mrs. Elizabeth GREEN, aged 84 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. W. STONER, last Tursday evening. Her husband, the late Alfred GREEN, died several yaers ago, and she has since made her home with her children. She has been a resident of Jefferson county since 1846 and may be rightly classed among the pioneers. She was a faithful and consistent Christian, being a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by six children: Graham GREEN, of Idaho, Mrs. C. M. MOYER, of York, Neb.; Wayne GREEN and Mrs. STONER, of Jefferson county, who, with a large circle of relatives and friends mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held last thursday afternoon, conducted from the STONER home by Rev. Thos. Osborn, and the remains laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
