Death of An Aged Woman.

Elizabeth WARNER, wife of the late Nelson GREEN, died in this city Wednesday, after an illness of ten days. Mrs. GREEN was born near Wooster, O., November 17th, 1821, a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Moses WARNER. About twenty years later the family came to Iowa, locating in Keokuk county, where Mr. WARNER was for many years a local preacher of the Methodist Episcopal church. The daughter was married to Mr. GREEN April 4th, 1844, their marriage license being the first issued in Keokuk county. Shortly after this they came to Jefferson couty, located on a farm about six miles northeast of this city, and it was their home until 1902. They were the parents of seven children, six of whom are living--Leonidas H., Harry W., Dennis C., Ira W. and Miss Mary GREEN, and Mrs. L. B. COLEMAN of Davenport. Mr. GREEN died in this city in January, 1903. Mrs. GREEN was the first born of her family and the last to die. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since her thirteenth year. She was a woman of many excellences, devoted to family and home, kindly and thoughtful as a neighbor, sympathizing as a friend. Those who have known here through her long life in this community will join the family in mourning her death. The body was interred in this city Saturday, Rev. Thos. Osborn having charge of the funeral service.
