DENNIS GREEN DIED SUDDENLY

Many friends in this city were shocked this morning to learn of the death of Dennis GREEN which occured suddenly this morning at his home on West madison street, and was due to heart failure. Mr. GREEN had been in failing health for several months although recently he seemed to be improving. Last Wednesday his condition became worse but his relatives were unprepared for his death.

Mr. GREEN was born and reared in Jefferson county and had spent practically his entire life here. He was born on a farm about seven miles northeast of Fairfield, April 3rd, 1854, and was the son of the late Nelson GREEN.

On March 1, 1877, he was united in marriage to Miss Belle KNIGHT and they resided on the home farm until about six years ago when they moved to Fairfield to make their home. To Mr. and Mrs. GREEN were born seven children, two boys and a girl dying in infancy. His wife and four children survive, They are as follows: Mrs. W. A. SHAW,
Misses May and Glendora of this city and Oscar GREEN of New Mexico. Mr. GREEN also leaves three brothers, Ira of Kansas, Lee of California and Harry of this city, and two sisters, Miss Mary GREEN of California and Mrs. Lon POLMAN (sic) of Davenport.

Mr. GREEN conducted a restaurant on the southwest corner of the square for some time and was well known to Fairfield people. His death will be generally regretted. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the home at three o'clock and it is probable that Dr. Thomas Osborn who is now in Newton will come home to conduct the funeral service.
