Clinton GRAY, 88, Fairfield, died Sunday at 6:40 a.m. at the Nelson Nursing Home, after being in failing health for the past year and a half.
Born March 28, 1887, in Warren County, Ind., he was the son of John D. and Elizabeth HALSTEAD GRAY.
He was married April 7, 1915, to Jessie B. PURDIE and had lived in the Fairfield community for over 55 years. He was a farmer and ran a produce business in Fairfield for over 20 years. Mr. GRAY had been a member of the local Odd Fellows Lodge for over 64 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Walter GRAY, Route 3, and James GRAY; one daughter, Mrs. Betty SMITH, Douds; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
The last of a family of seven children, he was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one son.
The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Fund.
Services for Clinton GRAY will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Odd Fellows Lodge in complete charge of the proceedings. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
