Mrs. GORMAN Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Clarence GORMAN, 73, 403 W. Kirkwood, died suddenly Friday about 8 p.m. at her home. The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home where arrangements are pending.

Marguerite ZEIGLER GORMAN was born Aug. 3, 1893 in Fairfield, the daughter of Sanford and Ella BOWER ZEIGLER. She was reared and educated in Fairfield. On Oct. 29, 1919, she was married to Clarence GORMAN.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 27, 1954. One son and two brothers are also deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Donald McGIFFIN of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Mrs. Robert SHUMAKER of Ottumwa; two sons, John GORMAN of Fairfield and Daniel GORMAN of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Raymond ZEIGLER of Fairfield and Clarence ZEIGLER at Newton; and four sisters, Ariel ZEIGLER, Mrs. Evelyn HALLBERG, Mrs. A. H. SINGLEY and Mrs. W. B. GRIFFIN Jr., all of Fairfield.

Mrs. GORMAN Rites Today

Funeral services for Mrs. Clarence GORMAN were held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

The Rev. James Dendler officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. GORMAN died suddenly at her home at 403 W. Kirkwood on Friday evening.
