Graveside Rites For George GOEKE

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. for George G. GOEKE, 69, former Fairfield businessman who died last night at Newton (note: in Jasper Co., IA).

The services will be in Evergreen cemetery with Dr. J. Henry Teele officiating. The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home.

The former Fairfield resident died at 9:40 p.m. last night in the Skiff Memorial hospital at Newton where he had been a patient for the past ten days. His residence was route 4, Newton.

Mr. GOEKE operated a shoe repair shop in Fairfield for a number of years. It was located at 103 W. Broadway where the Kurka cafe is now located. In later years he was in insurance salesman (sic). The family moved from Fairfield several years ago.

He was born Sept. 3, 1888, at Edina, Mo., the son of the late G. J. and Elizabeth GOEKE. He married Anna W. MORRISON at Fairfield on Sept. 12, 1912.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Welthea LA SUER, Newton; and a son, Elbert G. GOEKE, Bell Gardens, Calif. He is also survived by five grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
