GONTERMAN Rites To Be Tuesday

BATAVIA, Ia. -- Samuel J. GONTERMAN, 87, Blakesburg, died Saturday at 8:40 p.m. at the Sunnyslope Sanitarium in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA). He had been ill for the past eight years.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home in Fairfield with the Rev. Ned Gillum in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Samuel J. GONTERMAN was born Aug. 2, 1876, at Batavia, the son of John and Genevieve Blanche GONTERMAN. He was reared and educated in the Batavia community.

A member of the Christian church, he was preceded in death by three sisters. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
