Mrs. GOEKE rites today

Anna Welthea GOEKE, 89, former resident of Fairfield, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Embassy Manor Nursing Home in Newton.

She was the widow of the late George GOEKE who was in the shoe business in Fairfield a number of years ago.

Graveside services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. John Wilken officiating. Arrangements were in charge of the Behner Funeral Home.

Anna Welthea GOEKE was born Sept. 15, 1891, in Morning Sun, the daughter of Fisher and Emma MONTGOMERY MORRISON. She was married to George G. GOEKE Sept. 18, 1912, in Fairfield. He died July 17, 1958.

Mrs. GOEKE had moved to Newton in 1929 and was a member of the First Prebyterian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Welthea LA SUER, Newton; and a son, Elbert G. GOEKE, Bell Gardens, Calif., five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

The family home is at 1319 S. Twelfth Street Avenue, West Newton, iowa.
