Wednesday, August 16, 1989Margaret GLUENKIN dies at 75
Longtime Fairfield Public Library Board trustee Margaret GLUENKIN died at 4:57 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1989, at Jefferson County Hospital. She was 75.
Mrs. GLUENKIN, of 302 S. Court St., was born July 14, 1914, near Prairie City. She was the daughter of George and Edith IRWIN VANDERZYL.
She was feted at a public library open house last month for serving 25 years on the board. She was appointed to the board in 1964 and still was a trustee at the time of her death. Mrs. GLUENKIN was an English teacher at Fairfield High School for 15 years ending in 1967.
Mrs. GLUENKIN was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Chapter E of TTT, Chapter C of PEO and the Fairfield Women's Club.
She married Lewis GLUENKIN July 21, 1946. He survives along with a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death by one brother.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Wallarab officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library.
