GINGERICH Rites Will Be Tuesday

Last rites wil be Tuesday afternoon for Emmet W. GINGERICH, 52, Jefferson county farmer who died suddenly Saturday afternoon while attending a wedding reception at the VFW hall.

The services tomorrow will be held in the Germanville Hope Lutheran church at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dennis Stutrud in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Raymond funeral home to the church at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

GINGERICH suffered a heart attack while at the reception about 3:30 p.m. The fire department was summoned with emergency equipment but he failed to respond. He was pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Emmet Wesley GINGERICH, rural route 2, Brighton, was born May 18, 1910 at Kalona, Iowa, the son of Cornelius and Reahma YODER GINGERICH. He was reared and educated in the Kalona community, and was married April 8, 1934 to Hazel REYNOLDS who survives. The wedding took place at Rock Island.

He had lived in Walnut township for the past 19 years and had served as chairman of the county ASC committee. He was superintendent of the Sunday school at the Hope Lutheran church for three years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Marvin BLACK, Batavia; and Nancy, at home. Other survivors include three grandchildren, one brother, Cleo, who lives at Iowa City; and four sisters, Mrs. Will HOYLMAN, Parnell; Mrs. Ora YODER, Wellman; Mrs. Harry LANGLAS, Marengo; and Dorothy GINGERICH, Kalona; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
