JOHN GILSKY DEAD.

John GILSKI (sic) passed away at 7:45 o'clock yesterday morning at his home south of this city after an illness of two years.

Mr. GILSKI was born in Poland, May 6th, 1852, and came with his parents to America when he was two years of age. He was married to Miss Anna KASOWSKY (sic - KASOWSKI) in Mt. Pleasant in 1871. With exception of about thirteen years, Mr. and Mrs. GILSKI have been residents of Jefferson county ever since their marriage.

Besides his wife, Mr. GILSKI leaves eleven children to mourn his death, five sons and six daughters. They are Vincent, Anthony, Isadore, Theophil, Mrs .B. VIENKOWSKI (sic - ZIEMKOWSKI), Mrs. A. P. HALL, Mrs. C. R. COX and Miss Agnes, all of central Montana, Mrs. R. C. RUMARY of Ft. Atkinson, Wis., Mrs. Louis KASKA Jr., of East Pleasant Plain, and John Jr., who lives at home.

Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church.

Note: Several phonetic variations of the surname exist, including shortening the name from JAGELSKI. Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot SDiv.2-008. Wife Anna died in 1927 and was buried with him. The surname is GILSKEY on their gravestone.
