Lester M. GILL Dies Suddenly

Lester M. GILL, 51, died suddenly about 11 a.m. Friday upon arrival at the Jefferson County Hospital by ambulance. He had been in poor health the past four weeks.

Last rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Reverend George Pallas, Des Moines, in charge. Military rites will be conducted at the grave in Evergreen Cemetery.

Born Aug. 19, 1921, at Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Nira and Linnie LEE GILL. He was married Dec. 2, 1944, to Angeline ADAMS. His home is at 207 South D.

GILL was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Des Moines; he was a member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Connie SAMS, Fairfield; one son, Nick GILL, at home; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Linnie GILL, Mount Pleasant; two brothers, James, Mount Pleasant, and Glenn, Holsington, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
