MRS. KATE GILCHRIST DIED LAST EVENING AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Yest rday (sic) evening at 5:30 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. H. MESSER, 700 South Fourth St., occurred the death of Mrs. Kate GILCHRIST. She was aged over sixty-eight years, and death came after an illness of four years of paralysis, and had been confined to her bed for the past two months.

Mrs. GILCHRIST is survived by two daughters, Mrs. MESSER, with whom she made her home since the death of her husband nine years ago; Mrs. H. D. KING of Rock Island, Ill., and two sons, C. D. GILCHRIST and Harry GILCHRIST of Fairfield. One brother, Wm. DONNELLSON (sic - DONALDSON) of Long Beach, Cal., also mourns her departure.

Kate DONNELLSON was born in Fairfield, Penn., Sept. 21, 1851, and at the age of five years came to Jefferson county having lived all these years in Fairfield, Iowa, with the exception of a short residence in Missouri. She was a member of the Presbyterian church, and was held in high esteem by her many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held from the MESSER home tomorrow afternoon, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Dr. W. E. Parsons. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery.

DEATHS

GILCHRIST, MRS. KATE--at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. H. MESSER, at 700 South Fourth street, on April 1.

Mrs. GILCHRIST was born in Fairfield, Penn., in 1851, and came to Jefferson county when five years of age. Except for a short residence in Missouri she spent her life in Fairfield. She is survived by four children, Mrs. A. H. MESSER and Harry GILCHRIST, of Fairfield; Mrs. George KING of Rock Island; Charles GILCHRIST of Kansas City, and by one brother, William DONALDSON of Long Beach, Calif. Her husband, George GILCHRIST, died in this city some years ago.

For nearly four years Mrs. GILCHRIST has been a sufferer from paralysis and her death was due to this affliction. She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and enjoyed the esteem of all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the MESSER home last Saturday, conducted by Dr. W. E. Parsons.
