Page Two, Column 3VIRGINIA GILBERT DIED YESTERDAY
Victim of Infantile Paralysis; Funeral Tomorrow at 2:00 O'clock P. M.
Harriet Virginia, daughter of San (sic - Sam) T. and Daisy GILBERT was born in Penn township near Perlee, Jan. 17, 1922, died after an illness of about six weeks from infantile paralysis. She departed this life on the afternoon of February 21 at Fairfield.
These few lines tell three facts about the life of this child--her birth, her illness, her death.
But words cannot adequately express the story of a child's life. Her life was the promise of what it seemed she would become.
Her life was the plans and hopes of what her parents felt sure she would be. And so far as human vision could see she had much to hope for. She was strong. She was bright. She was full of the playful mischief of childhood.
But God in His wisdom called her, a mere bud, to be with Himself and who shall question His wisdom?
To the parents and sister of this child, who did all that medical skill and loving care could do, the sympathy of every heart will go out in this hour of bereavement and as comfort we can only quote the Master who said: "Suffer little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of heaven."
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock from the home, 203 East Adams street in charge of Dr. Gilbert Vorhies. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery.
