Mrs. Sam GILBERT, well known resident of Jefferson county, passed away about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at her farm home eight miles northeast of Fairfield.
She had suffered from arthritis for the past 25 years and had been an invalid for the past eight years during which time she was cared for at her home by her daughter.
Last rites will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with the Rev. Robert Folkert and Dr. Curtis R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Daisy Gertrude GIBSON GILBERT, 76, was born November 22, 1880 at Fairfield, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Caroline A. HEATON GIBSON. She was reared and educated in Jefferson county and united in marriage on December 6, 1911, to Samuel Thomas GILBERT. The wedding took place in Fairfield. Mrs. GILBERT was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Glenn EYESTONE, Fairfield; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, Charles GIBSON, Fairfield, and Joseph E. GIBSON, Davenport; and a sister, Mrs. Saidee BOYES, Cleveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away July 20, 1940, her parents, one daughter, a brother and two sisters.
