LOCKRIDGE -- Mrs. Ernest GIESE, 87, died Sunday at 3:15 p.m. at Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua after a serious illness of 30 days.
Mrs. GIESE resided one mile west of Lockridge, where she had made her home for 60 years. She was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church at Lockridge.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Henry E. Palm. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. GIESE, the former Olena KLEMETSON, was born Jan. 1, 1880 at Gary, Minn. She was married to Ernest GIESE April 9, 1907. He preceded her in death March 12, 1964.
Surviving are two children, Mrs. Cecilia DAVIS, Keosauqua, and Karl GIESE, Lockridge. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive. Three brothers, three sisters and one daughter are deceased.

In The Matter Of The Estate Of Ernest GIESE, deceased

TO:
Carl GIESE, Cecilia A. DAVIS, Orville PECK, Harold PECK, Marilyn Smith, State Board of Social Welfare of the State of Iowa, and Jefferson County, Iowa.
You and each of you are hereby notified that the undersigned, administrator of the Ernest GIESE Estate, has entered into a real estate contract for the sale of the following described real estate of Ernest GIESE, deceased:
Commencing at a stake 30 feet north and 30 feet west of the Southeast corner of the Northwest quarter of Section 34, Township, 72, Range 8 West, thence running west 50 feet, thence north 150 feet, thence east 50 feet, thence south 150 feet to the place of beginning, also Lots 1, 2, and 3 in Block 1, of the town of Coalport (Lockridge), Jefferson County, Iowa.
for the total sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
That pursuant to order of the District Court dated March 7, 1967, the Court has fixed the 24th day of March, 1967, at 2 o'clock p.m. at the Courtroom of the Jefferson County Courthouse at Fairfield, Iowa, as the time and place of final hearing on the adminsitrator's report of sale, and that you and each of you and all other interested parties are invited to make higher purchase offers for the above described property in the Courtroom at the aforesaid time.
The above described property will be sold for the highest offer made at such time and if no higher offer is received, the sale contract heretofore entered into for $500.00 for said property will be approved and confirmed by the District Court and such other orders with reference to the sale shall be entered as the Court may deem necessary and proper.
