Ernest GIESE, Lockridge, Dies

LOCKRIDGE, Ia. -- Ernest W. GIESE, 85, died Thursday at 3 p.m. at his home west of Lockridge after a serious illness of three months.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Henry E. Palm. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

GIESE was born Oct. 30, 1878 in Germany, the son of August and Anna HILDEBRAND GIESE. He came to America with his parents at the age of 14. He was married to Lena KLEMETSON April 9, 1907.

GIESE lived on a farm near Four Corners for 46 years. He had made his home on an acreage west of Lockridge for the past 18 years. He was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran church.

Surviving are his wife and three children: Mrs. Frieda PECK, Fairfield; Mrs. Frank DAVIS, Keosauqua; and Karl GIESE, Lockridge. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. R. G. FITZWATER, Fairfield; Mrs. Emry HARTER, Ottumwa.
