Oskaloosa Services for L. J. GIEFER; Burial In Evergreen

Funeral services will be held Thursday, at the Powers Funeral Home at 2 P.M. in Oskaloosa for Louis J. GIEFER, 72. He passed away Sunday at 7 P.M. at the home of his son, F. L. GIEFER, in whose home he had resided for the past 7 years. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery in Fairfield later in the afternoon beside his wife who passed away in 1932.

Mr. GIEFER was born in New Trier, Minnesota and he and Mrs. GIEFER resided here for seven years prior to her death. They resided on East Burlington Stret (sic).

He is survived by the following children: Frank GIEFER of Oskaloosa; Mrs. H. B. PATTON of Fairfield, Mrs. E. J. FOUNTAIN of Golind, Texas; Mrs. R. H. WATERBURY of Los Angeles; Mrs. George MUSBURGER of Los Angeles; Robert GIEFER of Gary, Indiana; Mrs. Harry BEER, Mrs. Rex ANDERS and Mollie GIEFER all of Burlington and Navy ship's cook 3-c Fred GIEFER, who is home now on leave after serving in the Atlantic for two years. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Five of the grandchildren are now in the service.

Mr. GIEFER was preceded in death by two children besides his wife.

WEEKEND GUESTS IN H. B. PATTONS, SR. HOME

Mr. and Mrs. H. B. PATTON, Jr., and son Lance of St. Louis will spend the weekend at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. PATTON, Sr., 907 South Main Street. Additional guests in the PATTON home will be her brother Mr. and Mrs. Frank GIEFER and daughter Frankie and a niece, Mrs. Phil WAKE and two children of Oskaloosa.

PATTON, Jr., who was in service over four years, recently received his discharge by the point system at Jefferson Barracks. He is now employed in St. Louis with the Blue Ribbon Packing Company.
