DEATH CLAIMS GEORGE GIBSON

George GIBSON, long time resident of Fairfield and a veteran of the Spanish American War, died this morning about 1:45 a.m. at the Jefferson county hospital. He had been in failing health for some time and taken to the hospital Monday night.

Last rites will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. Richard Engstrom in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

George W. GIBSON was born December 25, 1868, in Jeffeson county, Iowa. He was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline HEATON GIBSON.

He was united in marriage to Emma GILBERT who passed away December 11, 1895. A son, Leo, died March 31, 1936.

GIBSON spent most of his entire life in Fairfield and Jefferson county.

He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Daisy GILBERT, Fairfield; Mrs. Sadie BOYES, Cleveland, Ohio; Charles GIBSON, Fairfield; Joseph E. GIBSON, Davenport.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Leia GIBSON, Fairfield; two granddaughters and three great-granddaughters.
