... DR. EDGAR J. GEORGE

Dr. Edgar J. GEORGE, a former Fairfield resident, died suddenly in Chicago, Ill. last evening according to word received here today. The body will be brought to Fairfield where buriel (sic) will take place Saturday afternoon.

Dr. GEORGE is well known to Fairfield people. He is a nephew of Rev. Lewis MENDENHALL, 606 South Seventh street.

Dr. E. J. GEORGE Rites

The body of Dr. Edgar J. GEORGE of Chicago will arrive in this city tomorrow afternoon at 4:28 over the Burlington railroad, and will be taken directly from the depot to the Abbey. Short funeral services will be held by Dr. U. S. Smith of the Methodist church. All the friends are requested to be at the Abbey.

Dr. GEORGE, who is a former Fairfield resident, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening.

Note: The Fairfield Abbey was a mausoleum which was built in 1915 in what is now the 6th Addition of Evergreen Cemetery. Over time, the building deteriorated, residents were moved to other burial locations, and the building was demolished in 1968. Dr. GEORGE and wife Mary E. CODY ROBB, who died in 1927, were initially interred in the Abbey, and later moved to Lot 2nd.208½ at Evergreen Cemetery.
