Born on October 28, 1942, in Vinton, IA, Lynda lived a life full of love, dedication and service to her family and community. Lynda was a woman of strong character and determination. After attending Eldon High School, she married the love of her life, Bernard YOCHUM, in 1960. Later, she returned to school and completed her GED. Lynda and Bernard's union was blessed with two sons, Tim (Mindy) YOCHUM and Thomas (Jeana) YOCHUM, who brought immense joy and pride to their lives.

Lynda held various positions outside the home, including at Mike's TV and Appliance and the Eldon Forum Newspaper. She also drove a school bus for the Cardinal Community School District, a job she cherished for the opportunity it gave her to interact with the young members of her community. Lynda's dedication to her community was further highlighted by her service on the Batavia City Council and her volunteer work at the Jefferson County Hospital gift shop.

Despite her various roles in the community, Lynda's main passion was being a farmwife and mother. She took immense pride in managing her household and caring for her family. She was a master quilter and enjoyed ironing, activities that she found therapeutic and fulfilling. Lynda also had a knack for canning, a skill that she used to create delicious preserves that she loved to share with friends and family. She was known for her pies, and she took great pleasure in baking them for her loved ones.

Lynda's love for animals was evident in her affection for her dog, Butterball, who was her constant companion and brought her much joy. However, the most important thing in Lynda's life was her family. She was a devoted grandmother to Melia (Chris) BROWN, Mackenzie (Luke) PATTERSON, Casey YOCHUM, Jacob (Rachel) YOCHUM and Patricia (Bryan) SJULSON. She also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Mary, Sarah, Lucy, Griffin and Gracilyn.

Lynda was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Wilson WILBURN.

She is survived by her partner in life, Bernard; her sons; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly. Her legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched with her kindness and generosity.
