Trudy DiAnn VANDEGRIFF, 73, of Fairfield, IA passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Jefferson County Health Care Center. As were Trudy's wishes, her body will be cremated with no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions in Trudy's honor may be directed to the Lord's Cupboard in Fairfield, IA. Trudy DiAnn VANDEGRIFF was born on February 23, 1950, in Ottumwa, IA. to the late Virginia DIMMITT LARSON and Eugene LARSON. Trudy graduated from Cardinal High School in 1968 and furthered her education at the University of Iowa, where she earned a degree in finance. Her academic pursuits paved the way for a successful career in accounting and finance. She worked for several companies, including Dexter, Kessler Distributing, Jefferson County Treasurer's Office, and Vintage Power Wagons

On February 15, 1969, Trudy married the love of her life, Ramon Neil VANDEGRIFF, at the Methodist Church in Eldon, IA. Their union was blessed with three sons, Anthony Roy VANDEGRIFF, Nichols Neil VANDEGRIFF, and the late Nathan VANDEGRIFF. Trudy was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family above all else. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Kiersten Nickol and Kaiden Leigh VANDEGRIFF of Remlap, AL, and Harper Lynley VANDEGRIFF of Fairfield, IA, who brought immense joy to her life.

Beyond her professional and family life, Trudy was an active member of her community. She volunteered her time at the Lord's Cupboard in Fairfield, demonstrating her comitment to service and compassion for others. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, reading, and puzzles, as well as being a member of the card club. Trudy loved to travel, exploring the United States and the world, always eager to learn and experience new cultures.

Trudy's greatest passion was her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest cheerleader, always present at their school events and milestones. Her love for her family was boundless, and she instilled in them the values of hard work, respect, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many friends she made along the way.
