Note: There was no local obituary published in the "Southeast Iowa Union / Fairfield Ledger" for Phyllis; however, the "Cedar Rapids Gazette" published an obituary on Friday, July 8, 2022, and this posting is an extraction from that.

Phyllis J. PARRETT PIERCE was born on Feb. 21, 1930, in Fairfield, IA, to James and Velma (HOYLE) PARRETT. She married Jerry PIERCE, and he preceded her in death. Surviving is her sister Beverly PETERSON, nephew James (Sue) PETERSON, and niece Janet (Dan) ENGLE. Her parents and brother-in-law Don PETERSON also preceded her. Phyllis passed away July 5, 2022, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, IA. She requested no services. She is interred in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot 4th.098.
