FRANK W. CAMPBELL DIED THIS MORNING

Frank W. Campbell, one of the well known residents of this city, died this morning at ten o'clock at his home at 207 North C street after an illness of five days. He was 81 years of age and his death was due to the infirmities of old age.

Mr. CAMPBELL was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William CAMPBELL, and was born in Illinois on February 5th, 1836. For man y years he has made his home in Jefferson county and the later years of his life he has lived in Fairfield, where he is highly respected by all. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane LEMMON in this county on June 25th, 1857. She preceded him in death on Sept. 6th, 1915. To this union were born the following children: Mrs. Ada KIKRPATRICK of Kozad, Neb., Mrs. Della RAMSEY of Fairfield, and John CAMPBELL of Richland. They took Ed. CAMPBELL of this city to raise and reared him as carefully as they did their other children. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister: George B. CAMPBELL of Gothenberg, Neb., B. R. CAMPBELL of Scotts Bluffs, Neb., and Mrs. O. J. RISTINE of Gothenberg, Neb. Three brothers and two brothers of the deceased have passed away (sic).

No funeral arrangements have as yet been made.

Frank W. CAMPBELL

Frank W. CAMPBELL passed away Friday morning at his home on north C street after a brief illness. He had been poorly for years but was able to be about his work until but five days before his death. He was eighty-one years of age.

Frank W. CAMPBELL was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William CAMPBELL and was born in Illinois February 5th, 1836. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Jane LEMMON in this county June 25, 1857, who passed away September 9, 1915. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ada KIRKPATRICK of Cozad, Neb., Mrs. Della RAMSEY of Fairfield and John CAMPBELL of near Woolson. He is also survived by two brothers, George B. of Gothenberg, Neb., and B. R. of Scotts Bluffs, Neb., and one sister, Mrs. C. J. RISTINE of Gothenberg, Neb.

Mr. CAMPBELL had made his home in this county for many years, residing on a farm until a few years ago when failing health caused his retirement from the activities of farming. He has since made his home in Fairfield and was highly respected by his many friends. He was a member of the Methodist church for many years.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Sabbath afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Carson. The body was placed in Fairfield Abbey.

They left Monday afternoon for their home at Gothenburg, Neb. ...

Note: Buried originally in the Fairfield Abbey, a mausoleum which stood in the 6th Addition in Evergreen Cemetery. Due to structural deterioration of this abbey in the 1960s, those interred there were removed for burial elsewhere before the abbey was demolished. Frank and wife Mary were relocated to Lot 2nd.244½ in Evergreen Cemetery. -Admin.
