Obituary.

The funeral of Mrs. Frank W. CAMPBELL was held at the home at 4 o'clock p.m. Friday conducted by her pastor, Dr. A. H. Lathrop, and the body was laid to rest in the Fairfield Abbey.

Mary Jane LEMMON, daughter of Robert and Sarah HYCE LEMMON, was born August 14, 1839, in Pennsylvania; came to Iowa with her parents when 13 years of age. June 25, 1857, she was united in marriage to Frank W. CAMPBELL who survives her. One son, and two daughters were born to them: John CAMPBELL and Mrs. Estella RAMSEY of this county and Mrs. Addie KIRKPATRICK of Cozad, Neb., all of whom were with her during her last days to minister lovingly to her wants. Besides these children there was a foster son, Ed CAMPBELL of this city, upon whom she bestowed the love and care of a mother. She is also survived by three brothers, G. H., George and Harry LEMMON. They lived on a farm near Fairfield until nine years ago when they moved to this city. She was a quiet, unassuming woman and had many friends who will sadly miss her(.)

Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.244½. The Fairfield Abbey was a mausoleum which stood in the 6th Addition of Evergreen Cemetery. In the 1960s, structural weakness led to partial collapse of the building, and those interred there were moved to other accomodations. Mary Jane and husband Frank, who died in 1917, were both removed to Lot 2nd.244½.
