August 22, 2005Gilbert "Melvin" Pruden, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005.
The funeral is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Campbell Cemetery in Polluck, Mo.
Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The body will be cremated.
Cards and memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or the American Diabetes Association, 900 W. Depot Ave., Fairfield 52556.
Mr. Pruden was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Fairfield, the son of Gilbert and Goldie Smith Pruden. He married Roberta Hostetter Jan. 21, 1951, at the Nazarene Church.
Mr. Pruden graduated from Fairfield High School. He lived in Fairfield and worked at The Dexter Company for 38 years.
He was a member of the Iowa National Guard.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie Jester and husband Bert of Fairfield and Penny Klett and husband Rick of Hannibal, Mo.; four siblings, Marilyn Glass, Marge Royer and Karen Luke, all of Fairfield, and Bonnie Dillie of Birmingham; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
