Dorothy Swartz, 89, died today, Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

Behner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Swartz, 89, of Fairfield, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at SunnyBrook Assisted Living.

A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. today at SunnyBrook. A graveside service for family and friends will be Friday morning in Sharon, Mass.

Memorials may be made to Beth Shalom Synagogue, 200 Washington St., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. Swartz was born Nov. 1, 1915, in Boston, Mass. She married Philip Swartz in 1945.

Mrs. Swartz lived in Newton, Mass., where the couple raised their two children. She moved to Fairfield in 2001.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane deMarchena of New York City; one son, Frederick Swartz and wife Janet of Fairfield; one brother, Ben Whitman of Hopedale, Mass.; friend, Radhika Schwartz of Fairfield; three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; one brother; and one son-in-law.
