Alvin Newlon, 76, of Monrovia, Calif., died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, in Monrovia.

A graveside service was today at Live Oak Cemetery in Monrovia.

Mr. Newlon was born July 1, 1929, in Fairfield, the son of Dale and Alberta Lane Newlon.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1947. He lived in Duarte and Monrovia, Calif., since the late 1940s.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamm; two sons, Tom and Paul; one sister, Janette Alvarez; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Local survivors include two aunts, Margaret Newlon and Catherine Newlon; and one cousin, Mary E. Fleig.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; and his parents.
