Death of Mrs. GASAWAY.

Mrs. Elizabeth GASAWAY died in this city Thursday, after a brief illness. Deceased was seventy-nine years of age. She was born in Bullitt county, Ken., December 13th, 1812 (sic - Dec. 28th on gravestone), where she grew to womanhood and was married. The family came to Jefferson county in 1855, where the father died in 1882, and this has since been the home of most of its members. Mrs. GASAWAY was the mother of eight children, five of whom are now living. Mrs. Moses REMINE, Mrs. Caroline GIBSON and J. R. GASAWAY reside in this county; Thomas at Brighton; Mrs. Louisa HILTON in Adams county. All were with their mother during her final illness. During her long period of residence here deceased had formed a wide circle of acquaintance, and these old friends will learn of her death with regret and sympathize with the children in their affliction--the loss of a loving and devoted mother. Funeral services were held Saturday at the residence of Mrs. GIBSON in this city, conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill, and the remains were interred in the cemetry here.

Note: Buried with husband Benjamin GASAWAY in Evergreen Cemetery, Lot Old.P.372; he died December 13, 1882. The surname on their stone is spelled GASWA. From their marriage record, her maiden name appears to be HOLICLAW or possibly HOLSCLAW.
