Mrs. GARDNER, 72, Dies Suddenly

Mrs. George A. GARDNER, resident of Fairfield for the past 30 years, passed away suddenly at her home on route 4 west of Fairfield early last night.

She had been in failing health for the past four or five years, but her death was unexpected. She was sitting in a chair at her home when stricken with a heart attack about 6:45 p.m. and died suddenly.

Last rites will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Dr. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Stella L. GARDNER, 72, was born July 25, 1880, in Washington county, Iowa, the daughter of the late Frank and Emmaretta TODD PAGE. She was reared and educated at Washington.

She was united in marriage to George A. GARDNER and the couple moved to this community 30 years ago. Mrs. GARDNER is a member of the Presbyterian church and the American Legion auxiliary.

Besides her husband, she is survived by the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Mabel BAIN, Washington; Mrs. May PHILLIPS, Washington; Mrs. Carrie ROMOSER, Oskaloosa, and Orley PAGE, Keota.

Mrs. GARDNER was preceded in death by two brothers.
