Page 2, Column 3MRS. SARAH GANTZ DIED LAST NIGHT
Mrs. Sarah GANTZ passed away at 8:40 o'clock last night at her home on West Washington street.
Mrs. GANTZ was born in Amity, Washington county, Pa., June 1st, 1835 (sic - 1832). With her parents she moved to rising Sun, Indiana, when she was very young, but afterwards she returned to Pennsylvania, to make her home.
She was married to Levi GANTZ in the early fifties. Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. GANTZ moved to Iowa and lived on a farm in Blackhawk township. Mr. GANTZ died August 28th, 1900, and in 1902 Mrs. GANTZ moved to Fairfield. In April, 1912, Mrs. GANTZ was stricken with an illness which left her an invalid.
She was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive. They are John A. GANTZ, Mrs. E. J. HEWETT (sic - HEWITT), Mrs. S. A. COPELAND, Miss May GANTZ and Miss Effie GANTZ..
The funeral will be held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family home, 304 West Washington street.

Front Page, Column 3Mrs. Sarah GANTZ Dies.
Mrs. Sarah GANTZ, for a long time an invalid, died at her home in this city, Sabbath evening at half past eight o'clock. Deceased had been a resident of this county for many years, moving from the farm into town several yars ago with her daughters, Misses Effie and May, who with two other sisters, Mesdames E. J. HEWITT and S. A. COPELAND and one brother, J. A. GANTZ all of this city, survive her. Her husband passed away thirteen years ago.
Funeral services were held from the late residence Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Newell of the Congregational church, assisted by Rev. Polly of the Christian church and interment made in Evergreen cemetery.
