An Aged Woman Gone.

Mrs. Mahala GANTZ, widow of the late John GANTZ, who died in this city last winter, passed away this morning. She was in the eighty-first year of her age. Her health had been failing for two or three years and she had been confined to her bed for five months past. Mrs. GANTZ was born in Ohio, grew to womanhood and was married there. The family came to this county in 1851 and lived for many years on a farm near Brookville. Mrs. GANTZ was the mother of six children, four of whom are now living--J. S. and Andrew in this county, Mrs. E. G. DEARDUFF (sic - DEARDURFF) in Burlington, and John in Omaha, Neb. She had been a member of the Baptist church since early womanhood, and had lived the life of a consistent christian. In the community in this county in which so many years of her life had been spent she was held in the highest esteem, for she discharged her every duty as wife, mother and friend in the most faithful manner. The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon.
