ORVAL GANTZ PASSES AWAY IN MINNESOTA
Well known farmer dies today following operation

Word was received this morning of the sudden death of Orval GANTZ, well-known Jefferson county farmer.

Mr. GANTZ passed away at 1:30 p.m. today at Grand Rapids, Minn. following an emergency operation.

Known to many persons in the community, Mr. GANTZ has been a successful farmer, living about eight miles northwest of here on the Fairfield-Packwood road. No funeral arrangements have been made.

Mr. GANTZ was 41 years of age. Last Thursday he left on a vacation fishing trip with Mrs. GANTZ, son John Keith and his brother, Glenn GANTZ.

He underwent an emergency operation in Grand Rapids for stomach ulcers. Mr. GANTZ had had several operations previously.

He is survived by his wife, a son, John Keith; a brother Glenn; two sisters, Mrs. Marie GRAUEL, who is vacationing in the east at present, and Mrs. E. R. BONNETT, eight miles northwest, and his mother, Mrs. Lizzie B. GANTZ, 307 West Washington.

Mr. GANTZ is also a brother-in-law of Richard WARNER, 407 North Court street.

GANTZ Funeral Is Tomorrow Afternoon at Christian Church

The body of Orval GANTZ arrived in Fairfield this morning and was brought to the Hoskins Funeral Home. Later it was taken to the home ten miles northwest of the city.

Friends may call at the home where the body will lie in state until tomorrow afternoon. The casket will not be opened at the church.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, Aug. 20 at 2:30 o'clock at the First Christian church in Fairfield, with S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
