Ivan "Ike" F. Haufle, 93, of Packwood, died at 12:37 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Vista Woods Care Center in Ottumwa.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Shirley Hoffman-Will officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery in Packwood.

Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Packwood First Responders and Packwood Fire Department.

Mr. Haufle was born Sept. 25, 1911, in De Smet, S.D., the son of John and Ida J. Nelson Haufle. He married Emma Irene Estes Aug. 15, 1935, in Burlington. She died March 26, 2000.

Mr. Haufle moved to Packwood in the 1930s. He was a farmer and lived his entire adult life in the Packwood community.

He was a member of Farm Bureau. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and pool player. He bowled in leagues in both Fairfield and Ottumwa, and a member of Dickey bowling team.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Haufle of Ottumwa and Ron Haufle of Madison, Wis.; one brother, Bud Haufle of De Smet; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Haufle Jr. and Russell Haufle; four sisters, Arlene, Lula, Ruth and Verna.
