Hazel "Maxine" TEDROW, 89, of Fairfield, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Prestige Care Center.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at Millers Chapel with words of comfort by Tammy Tuttle (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Friends are welcome to sign the guest book starting at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022, at Behner Funeral Home. The family will not be present.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus and mailed to Renee LETTS, 1013 West Adams, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Maxine was born February 17, 1933, in Monroe, Iowa, to Frank Morey and Lena May (CARTER) CLARK. She married Vernon TEDROW on November 14, 1960. They were married 45 years before he passed away on February 15, 2006.

Maxine grew up in Van Buren County and after she got married, she and Vernon lived in Jefferson County. She worked at Fairfield Glove Factory as a seamstress retiring in 2001. Maxine lived sewing and crocheting. She made many pretty Afghans for family. Maxine also enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, reading and working in her flower garden.

She will be missed by her daughter, Renee (Leroy) LETTS of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Travis LETTS and Rochelle (Tim) BAUER; two great-grandchildren, Rhett and Layne BAUER; her brother, Harry (Marie) CLARK; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lena; husband, Vernon; three sisters, Helen NELSON, Betty WALLACE and Shirley WALLACE; and four brothers-in-law, George NELSON, Merlin FOREMAN, John WALLACE and Don WALLACE.
