Vernon L. Tedrow, 82, of Fairfield died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at Jefferson County Hospital.

A memorial service is set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. The body has been cremated. Burial of the cremains will be in Miller Chapel in Van Buren County.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Child Care Center in Fairfield. Online condolences may be left at www.behnerfh.com.

Mr. Tedrow was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Libertyville, the son of David Albert and Goldie Marie Anderson Tedrow. He married Hazel Maxine Clark Nov. 14, 1960, in Burlington.

Mr. Tedrow lived most of his life in the Libertyville and Fairfield communities. He graduated from Libertyville High School and farmed in the Libertyville area until his retirement. After retiring from farming, he worked for Whitney Monument and as a custodian for the Community Child Care Center.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter Renee Letts and husband Leroy of Fairfield; two grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Campbell of West Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mildred Cary.
