August 02, 2005The Rev. Maryann Mills-Krause, 52, of Fairfield, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
A memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday at New Life Community Church, with the Rev. Jim McGaffey officiating. A supper in the church basement will immediately follow the service.
The funeral is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewiston United Methodist Church in Lewiston, Ill., with the Rev. Bill Bunnage officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewiston. A supper at the church will follow burial.
Memorials may be made to her ministry, "Break Down the Walls, Inc." in care of her husband, 501 W. Adams Ave., No. 3, Fairfield 52556.
Mrs. Mills-Krause was born May 8, 1953, in Urbana, Ill., the daughter of Carl and Virginia Butler McCausland. She married Larry Mills. They divorced, and she married Bob Krause in December 2004.
She grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1971. She attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, Ill. She was a professional vocalist and pianist until joining the ministry.
Mrs. Mills-Krause attended ministry school in Chicago. She was a full gospel minister and taught interdenominational "Ministering the Gifts of the Holy Spirit" classes throughout western Illinois and eastern Iowa. She continued with her ministry duties until she was too sick to continue.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Geoffrey Mills and wife Amy, Jared Mills and Josh Mills; two stepdaughters, Laurel Krause and Janelle Krause; her parents of Lewiston; and one sister, Marty German.
