Jeanne LAWSON, 72, of Bettendorf, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

A celebration of life is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Weerts Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. LAWSON was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Keosauqua, the daughter of Rex and Bertha RAMBO. She married Gene LAWSON Nov. 8, 1953, at the Methodist church in Keosauqua.

She graduated from Keosauqua High School in 1949. She attended Drake University and Broadlawns School for Nursing in Des Moines and graduated in 1953. She worked 35 years, retiring as a registered nurse in 1988 from the former St. Luke's Hospital in Davenport.

Mrs. LAWSON enjoyed swimming, gardening, refurbishing antiques and glassware, sewing, making crafts and researching genealogy.

Survivors include her husband of Bettendorf; three sons, Monte LAWSON and wife Ellen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Michael LAWSON of Bettendorf; and Matt LAWSON and wife Mary of Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Larry RAMBO of Manchester, Mo.; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Melinda; three sisters; and two brothers.
