Fairfield Man Rushes by Land and Air to Sick Brother in CaliforniaMaking a dash across continent by airplane and train, L. O. GAINES is on his way to Los Angeles, Calif., to the bedside of his brother, Frank D., who is reported to be near death.
After receiving word of his brother's serious illness by wire yesterday noon, and communicating with his son, Huyett in Los Angles (sic) by telephone last night, Mr. GAINES left Fairfield at one oclock this morning on a Rock Island train for Kansas City, Mo. He was scheduled to leave Kansas City at 8:30 this morning by airplane and arrive in Los Angeles about eight oclock tonight.
Frank D. GAINES formerly made his home in Fairfield, leaving here eight years ago to live in the west.

Frank D. GAINES of Fairfield passed away yesterday morning at 1 oclock in Los Angeles, Calif., where he has been staying for some time. He was taken ill a week ago but his condition did not become serious until Friday morning.
His only surviving brother, L. O. GAINES of this city, was called to his bedside Saturday, and he will accompany the body to this city for burial. The funeral party left Los Angeles last night. The time of the funeral will be announced later.
Mr. GAINES was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard GAINES, pioneer residents of the city. For a number of years he was connected with the Gaines Bros. Hardware store of this city.

The last rites for Frank D. GAINES, who died Saturday morning in Los Angeles, Calif., will be held tomorrow afternoon at the home of his brother, L. O. GAINES, 608 South Main street. Dr. H. C. Whiting will conduct the services. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery where the services will be in charge of the Knights Templar Commandery.

Notice is hereby given that an instrument, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Frank D. GAINES, Deceased, is now on file in the office of the Clerk of the District Court of Jefferson county, and that Thursday, October 16, A. D. 1930 at 9 oclock a.m., it being the 16th day of September Term, 1930 of said court, has been set for proof and final hearing of same.
Witness my hand and the seal of said Court this 20th day of September, 1930.
