Page Eight, Column 1DEATH CLAIMS MRS. L. GAINES
Mrs. Luella GAINES, 76, 54½ E. Burlington street, passed away yesterday morning at 3 o'clock in the local hospital following a stroke. Mrs. GAINES had been ill the past three weeks.
She was born June 17, 1873 in Mansfield, Ohio. Her mother died when she was three years old at which time she came to Fairfield to make her home with her grandmother, Mrs. DAY. In 1892 (sic - January 18, 1893) she was married to Fred N. GAINES who preceded her in death in January 1926.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John WARD, and one son, Floyd, both of Fairfield; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Maude BUCHANAN, of Aprin, Wisconsin. A son, Dick, preceded her in death January 22, 1947.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday in the Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. in charge of the Rev. S. P. Williamson. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery. The body is at Monger's funeral home.

The apartment will be open for this sale all week beginning today from 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bedroom suite, living room suite, dinette set, kitchen table and chairs, Roper gas range, 4 cu. ft. Frigidaire refrigerator, kneehole desk, lamps, chairs, rugs and other items.
