MRS. FRY IS DEAD.
Editors Ledger:--Permelia F. ESPY died at the home of her son, George E. ALLEN, east of this city, Saturday. She was born July 3d, 1820, and was married to William P. BENNETT October 17th, 1839, the husband dying April 16th, 1841. One child was born of this union. April 30th, 1844, Mrs. BENNETT was united in marriage with William ALLEN, who passed away October 15th, 1865. There were eight children by this marriage, four of whom are now living--George E. and J. P. ALLEN of this county, Mrs. Ben HOLLISTER of Colorado Springs, Col., and B. A. ALLEN of Eugene, Ore. April 26th, 1876, Mrs. ALLEN married David FRY, who died about fourteen years later. Mrs. ALLEN was a woman who was very generally loved by those who knew her. She was an affectionate wife, a fond mother and a kindly neighbor. In early life she became a member of the Methodist church, but for thirty years past had been connected with the Christian denomination. Funeral services wre held at the home of her son Sunday afternoon at 2:30. They were conducted by Rev. Leander Lane and Rev. J. A. Raines. The remains were interred in the Evergreen cemetery, this city.
