MRS. FRESHWATER DIED SATURDAY

One of the saddest deaths that has occurred in this city fro (sic) some time was that of Mrs. J. N. FRESHWATER who passed away Saturday night at eleven o'clock after an illness of a few weeks of pneumonia. A babe was born last Monday and died a short time afterward, and since that time Mrs. FRESHWATER has been in a very serious condition and friends realized that her death was only a matter of a few days.

Marie Christina ANDERSON-FRESHWATER was born in Ottumwa, Aug. 9, 1888, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman ANDERSON. For the past few years she has made home in this city, residing with her aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Andrew ANDERSON until her marriage to J. Newton FRESHWATER which occurred July 8, 1909. The husband and a little son, Harvey Leroy survive, besides the parents, two sisters, Laura and Esther and three brothers, Earl, Carl and John all of Ottumwa.

The funeral was held this afternoon at two o'clock at the residence on South Depot street, Rev. Thomas Osborn conducting the services. The interment took place in Evergreen cemetery.
