Elsie Mae FRESHWATER, 88, a life long resident of Jefferson County, died Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 1975.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Lingwall officiating. Burial in Evergreen cemetery.
Elsie Mae was born January 10, 1890 in Jefferson County the daughter of Arbuth A. and Sadie NEWLON NOTT. She spent her entire life in Jefferson County and was married to Thomas N. FRESHWATER October 1, 1910. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Lutheran church and was employed at Fairfield Glove company for 35 years.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and one daughter, Mildred MAXWELL, one brother and one sister.
Surviving are two grandchildren: Alan MAXWELL, Osage and Carol MAXWELL, Biwabek, Minn.; three great granddaughters and three sisters: Mrs. Anna HARTMAN, Fairfield; Bessie LUNBECK, Burlington and Nellie ANGSTEAD, Freeport, Ill.; her son-in-law, Ralph MAXWELL of Fairfield and a number of nieces and nephews.
