MRS. J. E. FORTNER
Mrs. Sam GILBERT received word telling of the death of her sister Mrs. J. E. FORTNER, who died in Cleveland, O., Wednesday. Her maiden name was Etta GIBSON. The body will be brought to Fairfield where burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hoskins Funeral home. The body will arrive here Saturday noon.

FORTNER RITES MONDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. J. E. FORTNER who died Wednesday in her home in Cleveland, Ohio, will be held Monday marning (sic) at ten o'clock from the Hoskins Funeral Home in Fairfield instead of Sunday, as was formerly announced.
Dr. Gilbert Voorhies will have charge of the services. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. FORTNER is a sister of Mrs. Samuel GILBERT and will be remembered here as Etta GIBSON.

Henrietta May GIBSON was born in Fairfield, Iowa October 15, 1876 an ddied (sic) at Cleveland, Ohio May 28, 1936, aed (sic) 59 years, 7 months and 13 days. On Oct. 4, 1899 she was joined in marriae (sic), at Parkersberg, W. Va., with James E. FORTNER of that city. Besides her husband she is sur- and sisters: George W. and vived by the following brothers Charles A. GIBSON, Mrs. Will KENDALL and Mrs. Sam GILBERT all of Fairfield (sic); Mrs. Walter E. BOYES of Cleveland, O.; and Jos. E. GIBSON of Davenport, other relatives and a host of friends who will mourn her passing. She and her husband made their home in Parkersburg later in Fairmount, W. Va., Akron, Ohio, and in 1907 they removed to Cleveland where they have since resided. She received her education in the Fairfield public schools and Parsons college academy.
At the early age of eleven years she expressed her belief in Christ and became a member of the First Presbyterian church of Fairfield, later transferring her membership to the Brooklyn Memorial M. E. church of Cleveland.
Of a cheerful, happy disposition she made friends easily and was ever loyal to her friends and ready to stand by when needed. During four long years of illness she bore with an amazing amount of courage and fortitude the intense suffering to which she was subjected.
It was her wish to be brought back to Fairfield, her old home, to be laid to rest beside her parents, her faithful husband carrying out her wishes.
Funeral services were held at the home in Cleveland, Friday May 29 and at the Hoskins funeral home in Fairfield, Monday June 1 at 10:00 a.m. in charge of Rev. Gilbert Voorhies of the Presbyterian church. Interment was in the Evergreen cemetery. The following old friends and neighbors of the deceased acted as pallbearers, Wm. Wells, Bruce Ratcliff, Ray Baker, George Woods, Wesley Gaumer and Craig Pattison.
