CHARLES FEAGLE (sic) DEAD

Charles FLEAGLE passed peacefully away Saturday evening about 6:30 o'clock at the home of his son J. H. FLEAGLE on South Sixth street after an lingering illness of a complication of diseases.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at two o'clock from the home. Rev. Thomas Osborn pastor of the Methodist church spoke words of comfort to the sorrowing relatives and conducted the last services. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.

Charles FLEAGE (sic) was born July 4th 1838 in Maryland and when a young man enigrated (sic) westward. He was united in marriage in 1862 to Miss Bell BOST. To them were born four children all of whom with their mother are living to morn (sic) the death of their father. They are Mrs. Susie KNOTT (sic - NOTT), W. H. FLEAGLE, J. H. FLEAGLE and Mrs. Pearl KIRSCHNER (sic - KIRCHNER) all of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. FLAGLE (sic) lived in Henry county until about 1890 when they moved to this city. Mr. FLEAGLE was a stone mason by trade and was a skilled workman. He was industrious and a man well liked by all his fellow workmen.

About three years ago he became ill and was never able to work afterward. During the past few months relatives knew that the end was approaching and were not unprepared for it.

After a Long Illness.

Charles FLEAGLE died in this city Saturday night, after an illness extending over a period of three years. The body was buried Monday afternoon, Rev. Thos. Osborn having charge of the funeral services. Mr. FLEAGLE was a native of Carroll county, Md., and was born July 4th, 1838. He came to Iowa in 1856 and lived in Henry county until his removal to Fairfield, about twenty years ago. He was married to Belle BOST, in Henry county, January 18th, 1862, and the wife and four children survive him--J. H., and W. H. FLEAGLE, Mrs. A. A. KNOTT (sic) and Mrs. August KIRCHNER, all of this city. Mr. FLEAGLE was a man of industrious habits and excellent character, and there are many friends who will sympathize with the family and mourn his death.

Charles FLEAGLE Dead.

Charles FLEAGLE, seventy years of age, and a resident of this city for fifteen years, apssed away at the family home on South Sixth street Saturday. The funeral took place from the residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Thos. Osborn of the M. E. church in charge. Deceased had been ill for a long period with heart trouble, and this together with other complications, caused his death. He came to this city from Henry county.

Charles FLEAGLE was a son of Henry and Rebecca RUDOLPH FLEAGLE, and was born in Carroll county, Maryland, July 4th, 1838. Died at Fairfield, Iowa, August 15, 1908, aged 70 years, one month and 11 days.

He came to Iowa October 13, 1865, and was married to Belle POST (sic) the 18th day of January, 1862. To this union were born four children, all of whom reside in Fairfield. They are Mrs. Susie FLEAGLE-NOTT, Mrs. Pearl FLEAGLE-KERSCHNER (sic), daughters, and sons W. H. and J. H. FLEAGLE.

Charles H. FLEAGLE died Saturday evening at the home of his son, J. H. FLEAGLE on South Sixth street after an illness of some two or three years. Deceased was born in Maryland on the 4th of July, 1838 and came west when he was a young man; was united in marriage to Miss Belle BOST in 1862. To this union four children were born who with their mother survive him. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Osborn.
