Death Comes To G. G. FETZER

Word has been received here of the death of G. G. "Shorty" FETZER, former well known resident of Fairfield who died Sunday evening at Phoenix Ariz.

The body is being returned to Fairfield for last rites and burial. The body will be brought to the Raymond funeral home.

FETZER was a long-time resident of this community before moving to Arizona a few years ago. He operated a bulk delivery tank truck for the Mid-Continent Oil company for a long period of time.

Prior to moving to Arizona he and his wife lived on a farm near Fairfield.

FETZER Funeral Will Be Friday

Last rites for G. G. "Shorty" FETZER, former well known resident of Fairfield, will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

FETZER died Sunday in Phoenix, Ariz., where he and his wife had made their home for the past several months.

While a resident of Fairfield FETZER served as a tank bulk saleman for an oil company for a number of years.

FETZER Funeral To Be Friday

Last rites will be Friday at 10:15 a.m. for G. G. "Shorty" FETZER, former wellknown resident of Fairfield who died Sunday at Phoenix, Ariz. The body is being returned to the Raymond funeral home for last rites.

The services Friday will be at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. C. R. Douglass in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

FETZER died in a hospital at Phoenix after undergoing surgery a week previous.

Gerald G. FETZER, 64, was born July 15, 1899, in Iowa county, Iowa, the son of Edward and Margaret SPRINGER FETZER. He was reared and educated in Iowa county schools and Tipton school in Cedar Rapids.

He was married in Kansas to Marie HILL who preceded him in death. On Nov. 28, 1953, he was married to Hazel BLAIR at Nashua, Iowa.

FETZER was a member of the Presbyterian church; BPO Elks 1192; and lived in Fairfield for 30 years before he retired as a bulk agent for the DX Oil company.

He is survived by his wife and three step-daughters, Mrs. Clifford STANLEY, Fairfield; Mrs. Cedric RUGGLES, Packwood; and Mrs. Wayne BROWN, Paw Paw, Ill.; also 11 step-grandchildren.

He is also survived by four brothers, Walter, Williamsburg; Floyd, Ladora, Iowa; Harold, Grinnell; and Mervin, Marengo; also two sisters, Mrs. Sadie COULTER, Clarinda; and Mrs. John GOHRING (sic - GOEHRING?), Marengo; along with several nieces and nephews.

Attend Rites For G. G. FETZER

A number of relatives and friends from a distance have returned to their respective homes after attending funeral services here July 26 for G. G. FETZER, who passed away July 21 in Phoenix, Ariz.
