Batavia

Charlotte Ann DUNNE IRWIN, 69, of Batavia, died at 10:47 p.m. March 16, 2022, at home.

She was born May 6, 1952, in Fairfield, to James and Sadie BATES DUNNE. She married Gerald Roger "Jerry" IRWIN on September 4, 1971.

A 1970 graduate of Cardinal High School, she was a graduate of the Dental Assistant Program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids in 1971. Charlotte worked at the office of Dr. Hammer and Dr. Brechon for 46 years.

She was an active member of Bladensburg Christian Church where she served as Deacon; a member of a cancer support group, Bosom Buddies and a member of Batavia T.T.T. Charlotte enjoyed working on stained glass and was well known in the area and at craft shows for her art work of stained glass an (sic) stained glass jewelry. She enjoyed meeting with the friends she met at shows.

Surviving are her children, Ashley (Matt) BLAND of Batavia, Blake (Nicole) IRWIN of Eldon and Tyler (Rachel) IRWIN of Batavia; three grandchildren, Aftyn BLAND, Laci IRWIN and Callen IRWIN; two step-grandchildren, Kristi and Jake BLAND; a sister, Mary (Bill) CAMPBELL of Agency; brother-in-law, Steve BANYAS of Ottumwa; two nieces, Kelly (Mike) KAYSER and Kirsi (Greg) FINGER; and two nephews, Kevin (Debb) CAMPBELL and Alan (Joey) CAMPBELL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce BANYAS.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the family present to greet friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Bladensburg Christian Church.
