Died at Sea.

Word was received in this city Monday of the death of Levi FAWCETT, an old resident of Jefferson county. He died from yellow fever off the coast of Honduras, Central America, a short time ago, and his body was buried at sea. Mr. FAWCETT was a native of Ohio and came to this county in 1857. From that time until 1884 his home was on a farm where the town of Beckwith now stands. In the latter year the family removed to Kansas, and while other members of it returned here and resided for a time, Mr. FAWCETT never returned for anything more than a brief visit. He went to Central America about the first of the year. Mrs. FAWCETT, to whom he was married in Belmont county, Ohio, in 1853, resides at Green River, Wyoming, while five children now living are scattered in various western sates.

Death of Levi FAWCETT.

Word was received in this city Monday from Green River, Wyoming, of the death of Levi FAWCETT, son of the late Phineas FAWCETT, of this city. He died on board a ship, off the coast of Honduras, Central America, of yellow fever, Thursday, August 17th, and was buried in the ocean. Mr. FAWCETT was born in Ohio in the year 1831 (sic). In 1853 he was married to Miss Volumnia PATTERSON, niece of John PATTERSON of this city, in Belmont county, Ohio. From there he moved to Beckwith this county, about the year 1857, where he made his home for about thirty years, being engaged most of the time in farming.

About the year 1884 he moved with his family to Attica, Kansas, and of late years his family have been making their home in Green River, Wyoming. In January 1892, Mr. FAWCETT went to Honduras, Central America, for the purpose of locating there and raising fruit. He was heard from the last time in April of this year. He leaves a wife and five grown children to mourn his loss. Deceased was about sixty-three years of age.

While Mr. FAWCETT's family had made their home in Beckwith for some thirty years, Mr. FAWCETT spent most of the time traveling, his constant idea being to find a better place, and it is sincerely hoped that he has at last found it.
