Death of Mrs. FAWCETT.

Mrs. Jane FAWCETT, wife of Phineas FAWCETT, of this city, after an illness of several weeks, died at her home at about 1:30 a.m., on Saturday, the 13th inst. The funeral services were conducted the next day at 3 p.m., at the house, by Rev. F. W. Evans, in the presence of a large assembly of her acquaintances and friends. Mrs. FAWCETT was born in Delaware, Feb. 13th, 1814, and in her infancy removed with her parents to Ohio. She was married Aug. 20th, 1835, and was converted and joined the M. E. Church in April, 1839. She came with her husband, in April, 1854, to Fairfield, where she has remained ever since. She was the mother of seven children, three of whom died years ago and were buried in Ohio. Mrs. FAWCETT was a consistent christain (sic), highly respected in the community and dearly beloved by her friends and intimate acquaintances. She leaves the light of a blessed christian example to comfort and guide her husband and children, one of whom is a successful and honored minister of the M. E. church. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.
